Championship Fever At Tullyroan Oval

Short oval racing fans are in for a thriller at Tullyroan Oval on Saturday 24th October (please note early 6pm start) with an action-packed, championship-filled programme. In action on track are the National Hot Rods, Superstox, Junior Productions, Ninja Karts and 2.0 Hot Rods.

National Hot Rods
As the fastest cars on the DMC Race Promotions circuits and the pinnacle of local racing, the National Hot Rods return for the fifth round of their World Series NI qualification. Reigning World and British Champion Glenn Bell of Portadown is undeniably the man to watch, having also won the Irish Open last weekend, but competition will be fierce. Shane Murray from Ballymena comes into this round full of confidence after clinching the Ulster Championship at Tullyroan earlier this month. Carl Sloan, a double heat winner during the last meeting at the circuit, also looks to carry his formidable momentum forward. Other major contenders ready to shake up the field include Crumlin's John Christie and Dungannon's Derek Martin, both former World Champions.

Superstox
The coveted Irish Championship is on the line in the Superstox, with the grid lined up based on points accumulated throughout the gruelling season. European Champion Steven Haugh from Portadown starts on pole position, flanked by Garvagh's Dean Catherwood, who excelled during the season to earn grid slot two. Sharing row two are current World Champion Jamie McCann from Loughgall and the defending Irish Champion, Jordan Robinson from the Birches. Expect full use of the bumpers as these heavy hitters battle for local supremacy and the green roof.

Junior Productions
The stars of tomorrow, aged 11 to 16, line up for their ultimate seasonal showdown, the Irish Championship, with the grid determined by 2026 points standings. Irish Open Champion Jack Morrison of Portadown shares the front row with former British Champion Casey Cherry of Loughgall. Directly behind them on row two, recently crowned Scottish Open Champion Ryan Berry starts alongside Banbridge ace Noah Teggart. It is sure to be an intriguing battle all the way to the chequered flag.

Ninja Karts
Kindly sponsored by Hollytree Farm, the youngsters in the Ninja Karts face a momentous evening with a massive entry of over 40 karts converging from across the UK. The Individual Achievement Award gives local drivers who have not won a race in 2026 a grand opportunity to win a big title, a race which will be defended by Cahan Bradley.

The main Champion of Champions event follows to a full three-heat reverse grid format, featuring a stellar field topped by England's World Champion George Cooper. Local star Jack Murphy, who recently secured his second consecutive Irish title, will defend his Champion of Champions crown in what marks his final meeting before reaching the upper age limit.

2.0 Hot Rods
Rounding out the spectacular bill are the ultra-competitive and fast 2.0 Hot Rods. This class boasts an incredible array of top-tier talent, including World Champion Adam Hylands, British Champion Callum Doak, and Irish Champion Jordan Rochford, who all hail from Portadown. They will have to contend with the inform Ethan Dilly, who arrives on a high after sweeping a heat and final victory last time out at Aghadowey Oval. Conor Hughes will be another to watch for after he successfully defended his Internations Cup title last weekend in Tipperary.
