1400 Stock Cars British Championship Comes To Aghadowey Oval
Aghadowey Oval is set for a historic night of short-oval racing on Saturday, 10th October 2026, with a highly anticipated double-championship bill. There is an earlier than usual start time of 5pm to accommodate a massive, action-packed programme.1400 Stock Cars British Championship
History will be made as the prestigious 1400 Stock Cars British Championship is staged in Northern Ireland for the very first time. A huge entry of over 30 cars from across the UK will descend on the venue, making it one of the most competitive grids of the season.
The entry list is a true "who's who" of stock car racing, with local favourite and current NI Points Champion Curtis Greer heading the local entry. The Cullybackey man is himself a former World Champion and will have the backing of the vocal home crowd.
Defending British Champion Gary Nicholls leads a formidable Scottish contingent that includes Scottish Points Champion Joshua Machin and Scottish Champion Fraser Clark. Adding to the tartan threat are lady racer Charlie Henry, Brant West, Dale Sutherland, and Ally Strachan.
The English challenge is equally potent, featuring European Champion Lee Kingsnorth, National Champion Korben Quinn, English Champion Joe Giles, and former World Champion Jacob Bromley alongside top contenders Dan Santry, Charlie Terry-Brand, and Luke Gordon.
Northern Ireland's local pride will be fiercely defended. Alongside Greer, the local challenge features current Irish Champion William Taggart and recent Aghadowey winner Joshua McKinstry. Lurgan’s Graham Meek and Ballymena’s Gary Freeburn are also in the hunt, alongside hard-chargers Curtis McConkey, Matthew Weir, Fionn Donnelly, and Michael Logan.
Ninja Karts Irish Championship
The stars of the future will take centre stage in the Ninja Karts Irish Championship, the biggest domestic event of the season for racers aged 6 to 11.
The grid has been determined by points scored throughout 2026, putting NI Points Champion Ollie Williamson firmly on pole position. Sharing the front row in what promises to be a thrilling drag race to the first bend is defending champion Jack Murphy. Ahead of the championship decider, heavy pressure is expected from a talented chasing pack, including Harry Hoy, Jordan Davis, Eddie Fowler, and Luke Grattan.
Packed Support Programme
If the two headline championships weren't enough, a top-flight support programme will keep the energy high. Three of Aghadowey’s most popular local formulas—the high-speed Superstox, the ultra-competitive Stock Rods, and the bumper-to-bumper Thunder Rods—will
all be in action, ensuring non-stop entertainment from the first green flag to the final silverware presentation.
A blockbuster night of motorsport not to be missed - racing begins at 5pm. Added 07/10/2026
